- 5 cups stone fruit, sliced (peaches, plums, nectarines)
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- Juice of ½ lemon
- Biscuit topping: 1½ cups flour, 1 tbsp baking powder, 3 tbsp sugar, ½ tsp salt, 6 tbsp cold butter cubed, ¾ cup buttermilk
- Coarse sugar for topping
Instructions
- 01.Toss fruit with sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice; spread in a buttered baking dish.
- 02.Whisk dry ingredients; cut in butter until pebbly. Stir in buttermilk just to combine.
- 03.Drop biscuit dough in mounds over fruit; sprinkle with coarse sugar.
- 04.Bake at 375°F until fruit is bubbling and biscuits are deep golden, 35–40 minutes.
